CHAPTER – 14 Practical Geometry
Using the ruler and compasses, thefollowing constructions canbe made:
A graduated ruler, The compasses, The divider,
 Set-squares, The protractor
This chapter dealswith methods ofdrawing geometrical shapes.
We use thefollowing mathematical instruments to construct shapes:
A circle, when the length of its radius is known. A line segment, if its length is given.
A copy ofa line segment.
A perpendicular to a linethrough a point
(a) on the line
(b) not on theline.
The perpendicular bisector of a line segment of given length. Anangle of agiven measure.
A copy ofan angle.
Thebisector of a given angle.
